―――― 平面作品について ――――

金沢ではじめて漆に触れて以来二十年余り、 蒔絵を中心に漆という素材と向き合い、 私自身を表現する一番の“かたち”を模索してまいりました。 連綿と受け継がれてきた漆工芸の技法である蒔絵を “平面”という切り口で表現しています。 箱や器でなく平面としたことで、表面装飾として多用な様式・技法を残してきた 蒔絵と正面から向き合い、「何が自分にできるか」を自問自答しながらの 一点一点の作品制作となりました。 伝統の技が息づく中に存在感ある作品の数々を是非ご覧下さい。 中村 晃

―――― On the level works ――――

I came to meet the Japanese lacquer in Kanazawa 20 years ago, and since then tackled with the art, especially with the golden Japanese lacquer-URUSI work, and searched for a form in which I can express myself the most. In effect I have sought an approach to express the golden Japanese lacquer-URUSI work, a traditional art in the Japanese lacquer craftsmanship, by presenting it in a level perspective. By doing so, not as a boxed receptacle or a vessel, I have wrestled with the art of the golden Japanese lacquer-URUSI work, which enhances tremendous decorative styles and techniques, and have questioned myself with each piece of work what I can do with the art. I hope you enjoy the presence of my works which definitely succeeds the art's tradition at the same time. Akira Nakamura
